Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention announces Visiting Consultants Program for December 2018
Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has announced the details of its Visiting Consultants Program for the month of December 2018, to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients. Doctors participating in this month's program will visit Al Baraha, Al Qassimi, Al Amal, Khorfakkan, Saqr, Abdullah Bin Omran, Fujairah, Dibba and Obaidullah hospitals, to provide medical services in their fields of expertise that include laparoscopy and rehabilitation, heart disease, gynaecology and obstetrics, kidney and hypertension, neurology, psychiatry, gastrointestinal tract, obesity and related diseases, haematology, immunology, ophthalmology, geriatrics, modern childbirth, sports medicine, plastic and reconstructive surgery and interventional cardiology.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention signs MoU with GSK for awareness campaign on antibiotic resistance
Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to launch a health awareness campaign in the UAE media to address the growing global concern of bacterial resistance to antibiotics. The MoU was signed by Sameh Al Fangary, General Manager of GlaxoSmithKline, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospitals Sector. The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention; (H.E.) Dr. Hussein Abdulrahman Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics, MOHAP, and Chairman of the National Antimicrobial Resistance Committee.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention successfully organizes workshop on Artificial Intelligence
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) successfully organized a workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it can contribute to achieve the goals and objectives of the UAE strategy on Artificial Intelligence launched by the UAE cabinet in the year 2017. The initiative also aimed at encouraging efforts to use AI technologies to strengthen the efforts put forward to achieve the national KPI on decreasing mortality from cancer and cardio vascular diseases. Furthermore, participants were exposed to an atmosphere that promoted the culture of innovation and further inculcating it as part of one's daily practices in their respective fields of work.

Healthcare Issues The Ministry of Health and Prevention organizes awareness workshops in two schools to prepare "health school food bag"
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched the pilot phase of its Healthy Food Program (CHP) called ‘Healthy food school box’ in Sharjah and Dubai to promote healthy diet in children and equip parents with the right knowledge about smart food choices and the nutritional value of their children’s school snacks. The experimental phase has been implemented at the American School of Creative Science in Sharjah and Al Mawakeb School in Al Barsha in Dubai.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention successfully conducts breast cancer awareness programs
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), represented by its Specialized Care Management Department, successfully organized a series of awareness programs and workshops about breast cancer, which were organized under the patronage of His Excellency (H.E.) Dr. Yousef Mohammad Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector. The move falls in line with the Ministry's strategy to provide comprehensive and fully integrated health care services in an innovative and sustainable manner, which ensures prevention among the community and the implementation of the National Strategy for Cancer Mortality Reduction. The workshops were held at key venues that included the Dubai Women's Association branch in Al Khawaneej and in the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, in collaboration with the Management of Child and Motherhood Care sections of local health centers and clinics sector and the management of Supportive Medical Services (Nutrition Department).
