The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has showcased the UAE’s leading experience in developing the national healthcare sector at the high-level international forum, “Prevention, Prediction, Protection: The Next Health Model”, held in Riga, the capital of Latvia.

His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, convened a high-level meeting with private healthcare leaders across the UAE to gather firsthand perspectives on their experiences during the recent crisis, understand the challenges encountered, and reaffirm the Ministry’s continued support to the sector.

The UAE healthcare sector has reaffirmed its full readiness and unified commitment to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the community, in line with the national “Proud of the UAE” campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Addressing international leaders at the One Health Summit in Lyon, France, the United Arab Emirates issued a stark warning on the far-reaching global health, environmental, and food system consequences of ongoing illegal, unjustifiable, and unprovoked attacks in the region. The summit, convened by President Emmanuel Macron, brought together heads of state and more than 30 ministers.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), has announced that faculty members at medical universities and colleges—including physicians and other health professionals—will now be enabled to practice within healthcare facilities. The move also removes the requirement for certain nursing and allied health graduates to complete six months of post-graduation experience before obtaining a professional license, as part of efforts to improve the efficiency of the licensing system and better align it with labor market needs.
