Public Consultation on the Development of the National Policy for the Promotion of Women's Health in the United Arab Emirates

About the Campaign 

Ministry of Health and Prevention is currently working on development of the national policy to promote women's health with the aim of improving women's health and well-being by providing them with appropriate and equitable health care through a multi-sectoral national framework to ensure the promotion of women's health and access to the highest levels of preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care services throughout their life cycle. 

Through the questionnaire, the community's opinion will be surveyed on several important axes, such as promoting maternal and reproductive health, preventing and controlling chronic diseases that affect women, promoting women's psychological health and healthy aging for women, in addition to strengthening information systems, innovation and research capacity in the field of women's health, and strengthening Health education programs and raising awareness directed at women of all ages in all areas of the country, and creating environments that enhance women's health that would enable women of different age groups and different abilities to benefit from the environment that promotes healthy lifestyles.


Campaign Objectives

Surveying the opinion of women in Emirati society about the health problems that may be faced and the necessary perspectives to promote women's health in the country through a questionnaire containing open end questions.

Outcome

Overall, conducting this consultation provided crucial insights for developing a project concerning a comprehensive national policy to promote women's health in the UAE. It supported the following:

  • Identification of Health Concerns: Understanding the specific health problems and concerns that women in Emirati society face.
  • Data for Policy Development: Valid Data to inform the development of "the national policy for promotion of women's health in UAE."
  • Tailored Interventions: Insights into the types of healthcare interventions and support needed by women.
  • Diverse Perspectives and Cultural Sensitivity: A range of perspectives and experiences related to women's health issues from different strata.
  • Awareness of demographic and societal factors affecting women's health and healthcare access.
  • Evidence-Based Policy: A foundation for crafting evidence-based policies to address women's health issues.
  • Barriers to Access: Identification of barriers to healthcare access that women face.
  • Healthcare Infrastructure: Information that can guide the improvement of healthcare infrastructure to serve women better.
  • Preventative Measures: Insights into preventative measures and strategies for promoting women's health.
  • Long-term Impact: Information that can contribute to the long-term improvement of women's health in Emirati society.
  • Empowerment and Inclusion: Encouraging women's active participation in healthcare decisions and policy development.
  • Data for Comparative Analysis and Measuring Progress: Data that can be compared over time to assess the effectiveness of policy changes and serve as baseline data for measuring progress and the impact of policy initiatives.
  • Transparency: Demonstrating a commitment to transparency and responsiveness to women's health concerns.
