His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Al Fujairah Crown Prince, opened the new dialysis center of Al Fujairah Hospital in the attendance of His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health, Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Advisor to the Minister in addition to Excellencies Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Representative of Majid Al Futaim Charity Group, Mohammed Abdulla Saeed, Director of Al Fujairah Medical District as well as numbers of dignitaries.

The center which was opened today morning “Thursday 19/6/2014” was constructed and built on the expenses of Majid Al Futtaim Charity Group in coordination  with the Ministry of Health as part of its partnership with the private sector to enhance their societal role in serving the society and providing comprehensive support to the services of the Ministry of Health and community members.

His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health lauded the efforts of Majid Al Futtaim Charity Group as a strategic partner to support the role of health sector in the UAE and adopt the ministry’s efforts in providing quality health services to the emirate. The center gives psychological stability to both patients and their families”.

The establishment of the dialysis center in Al Fujairah Hospital coincides with the vision of the Ministry of Health in improving the services of the health institutes and raising the standards of health services to the emirate. It also ensures the support of the Ministry of Health to Al Fujairah Hospital as a referential hospital to the residents of the remote and near areas of the eastern coast.

It is noted that the center is the first specialized center of its kind in the region and has been built with the latest international specifications and a total cost of 11 million AED. The center began its experimental phase on 12/12/2012. The center also has 18 dialysis equipments with high technologies and specifications by using the latest haemodia filtration technique, a global worldwide new trend. The total capacity of the center is 108 patients and currently serves 50 patients and 18 dialysis stations with two isolated rooms and clinics, offices and a lecture hall. The number of technical staff in the center is consisted of a director, 3 doctors, 18 nurses and 2 dialysis technicians.
