As a result of its continuing efforts to provide world-class health care services in line with the government’s vision of the future, the Ministry of Health and Prevention recently won the ‘Best Government Communication Campaign at the GCC level’ award for its initiative promoting the nursing profession in the country. The achievement is in line with the state’s national programs designed to enhance all local sectors, including the health system which has been undergoing rapid and remarkable progress. In the medical sector, the Ministry is at the forefront of establishing a health system based on the highest standards of service delivery and medical staff development to make the UAE one of the best countries in terms of quality health care.
The Sharjah Government Communication Awards launched in 2012 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, is the first-of-its kind in the Arab nation. Over the past five years, it has been able to document many distinct and pioneering practices and programs in the government sector, resulting in a more competitive environment as evidenced by the advancing labor system in the country.
H.E. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, expressed his pleasure that the ministry has won the Sharjah Government Communication Award 2018, saying that the recognition is a proof of the high- quality sustainable programs adopted by the Ministry, He also stressed the importance of the Sharjah-led ‘International Forum for Government Communication’ organized to reinforce the UAE’s global role in government communication.
Al Owais, thanked the winners and praised the outstanding performance of the Ministry's medical and managerial leadership and cadres, and bless this achievement as part of the Ministry's plans to enhance the confidence of the society in the efficiency of health services, especially nursing provided by the Ministry within the strategy to provide comprehensive and integrated health care services; foster a culture of innovation in the industry; and improve the quality of clinical care according to the world's best standards and UAE Vision 2021.
