Ministry of Health and Prevention to launch new electronic licensing services at GITEX Technology Week 2017

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced the launch of a new bundle of licensing services at GITEX Technology Week 2017 which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center. The new service includes licensing of private healthcare facilities, private healthcare professionals, and healthcare advertising; regulating healthcare professions; and issuing assessment ‘Report to healthcare professionals’. The health services will be rolled out to provide customers with a seamless and easy experience in conformity with the world’s highest standards.

H.E. Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry’s Public Health Policy and Licensing Sector, said that the new services can be accessed all day as part of the Ministry’s bid to raise the standards and operational performance, enhance customers’ happiness, and keep up with the global best practices.

H.E. Dr. Al Amiri further shared that the Ministry aims, through these services, to achieve a high-quality healthcare system in the country, upgrade medical facilities, develop smart solutions, and establish a world-class health system. These objectives are the key to formulating public policies and strategies according to the vision of the country’s wise leadership to create a future that reflects the goals of UAE Vision 2021 and build one of the world’s most advanced governments.

Licensing a newly opened healthcare facility ensures that it can provide the best quality medical services to patients. The procedure evaluates a range of services being offered by the hospitals, public and private clinics, diagnostic centers, rehabilitation centers, high-technology centers, multispecialty medical centers or those offering two or more specialties, nurseries and school clinics, and one- day surgery centers.

Issuing a license to healthcare professionals follows the process for healthcare professionals’ assessment to license those that are eligible to work in the UAE. The process applies to all medical practitioners including physicians, dentists, laboratory technicians, and complementary medicine specialists in the Northern Emirates.

The licensing of healthcare advertising maps out the approved processes for reviewing and validating a medical advertising proposed by customers.
